State of the Self-Storage Industry to Be Addressed at the ISS Nashville Expo

In a down economy, self-storage owners and investors wonder what the future holds. There are those who believe the industry to be recession-proof, but is it true? On Oct. 8, investment-analysis specialist Charles Ray Wilson will present a special overview titled “Self-Storage at the Crossroads: Which Way Will You Go?” as the opening session of the Inside Self-Storage Expo in Nashville, Tenn. The presentation will take place at 9 a.m. at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn.
 
Moderated by industry consultant and expert Jim Chiswell and sponsored by Extra Space Storage, this state-of-the industry report will disclose the conditions of the real estate cycle and the various factors influencing the market. Attendees will see up-to-date statistics on industry operating performance, including rents, occupancies and concessions. They’ll also hear about recent trends in facility cap rates and sale prices.
 
Wilson is an internationally recognized authority on self-storage investment analysis and the president of research firm Self Storage Data Services Inc. (SSDS). SSDS maintains a nationwide database of operating statistics on several thousand storage facilities.
