This four-hour seminar covers day-to-day management essentials every operator needs to increase revenue, minimize expenses, provide excellent service, avoid legal pitfalls, and more.


Attendees will explore a “typical day” in the life of a self-storage manager, covering the practices and policies that must be followed to efficiently manage and market self-storage space. Our presenter will address key aspects of the business:

  • Operations: Facility manuals, daily site inspections, maintenance procedures, emergency protocols, inventory systems, banking, employee training, phone skills
  • Marketing: Defining your market, pricing, specials, buying advertising, dealing with the media, site visibility, advertising effectiveness, online marketing, signage, Yellow Pages
  • Service: Retaining customers, handling complaints, offering add-on services, customer-incentive programs
  • Legal: Handling delinquency and collections, lien sales, tenant bankruptcy, tenant death, break-ins
  • Participants are encouraged to share their questions and experiences in this interactive session.
